Basic Rescue A moments reflection is all that is needed to realise by definition, that any situation requiring a rescue operation is one which contains either dangerous or potentially dangerous elements. It must also be remembered that is not just the victim who faces the danger; in order to rescue the victim the rescuer must first enter the site of the dangerous situation and face the same danger. This two-day course provides theoretical and practical training for handling these incidents. The course will give the rescuer the basic knowledge to keep themselves safe as well as the skills needed to successfully rescue victims. This course is a must for basic rescue teams, civil defence teams or emergency response teams. Topics covered in this course: • Casualty handling • Knots and lines for rescue • Ladders, anchors and holdfasts • Off site exercises • Practical scenarios to test procedures and skills • Reconnaissance/scene assessment • Safety in training and operations • Stabilising the emergency • The aim of the rescue group • Use of in house equipment | |
