In operation since 1998, FETS have clients in Wellington and throughout New Zealand.
Our course classes range from compliance training, such as floor / fire warden and fire extinguisher, right through to workplace emergency response training in breathing apparatus, confined space entry and working at heights.
Our clients come from many industries including dairy, meat, manufacturing, construction, building, corporate, local government, and maritime, including schools and colleges.
Practical, hands-on training, taught by experienced instructors.
Every one of our instructors has an operational background and therefore brings to the classroom not only their knowledge but also real life experiences.
You will learn from them ‘real live’ situations and gain the skills needed to correctly handle any emergency situation.
Responding to emergencies may not be your main role – this common for many of our course participants. However the new skills and knowledge you develop give you a different perspective of your workplace (and even yourself).
Taking the courses will give you a greater safety awareness, understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment, decision making, team work and problem solving.

FETS courses are totally flexible and are available New Zealand-wide. Whatever your organisations requirements, we can custom design professional and quality delivered training packages.
Training is delivered on your site, using your procedures where appropriate to give your staff relevant workplace information.
Course numbers range from 8 - 20 depending on type of course.
The FETS course refreshers are designed to check people’s current level of ability, identify any gaps and provide the necessary training to reinforce the additional learning. Staff and employees therefore learn new information in the process.

NZQA Accreditation
With quality training, it means you're getting the best in course material and financial investment. FETS hold accreditation over 6 domains at NZQA allowing us to teach and assess over 80 courses to a NZQA recognised unit standard.
Those courses we do not offer to a NZQA unit standard are taught to a recognised industry standard.
Our Maritime New Zealand accreditation allows us to deliver a variety of training packages to the maritime industry. A key feature is our ability to run the six day STCW '95 basic training course.
We are able to give students the opportunity to use the courses we offer to a unit standard level as a stepping stone to a higher qualification, and will lodge any relevant credits with NZQA on behalf of our students.
Funding and ITO Affiliations
As we are experts in the training field, we have a thorough understanding of the funding opportunities available to your organisation. We cannot guarantee that you will qualify for funding or subsidies, but we can help you to apply for and access the different bodies that provide funding.
FETS has ongoing relationships with a number of the Industry Training Organisations (ITO’s), including:
ITO’s provide subsidies for training in many areas and in some cases they may fund up to half the cost of training.
