Chemical Handling

We offer two levels of training in this area:

Firstly, those that need to understand the legislative requirements under the Hazardous Substance and New Organism Act 1996 (HSNO). > NZQA Unit Standard 20645 “Describe the requirements of the HSNO Act 1996 relevant to approved.handlers”

Secondly, a course covering the requirements of staff that deal with workplace chemical, storage and handling and will therefore need to know the procedures in dealing with a workplace chemical spill. > NZQA Unit Standard 21467 “Store and handle workplace chemicals.”

Duration: One Day (NZQA 20645), Two Days (NZQA 21467)

Relevant NZQA Unit Standards Available (if required):

20645: Describe the requirements of the HSNO Act 1996 relevant to approved handlers.
21467: Store and handle workplace chemicals.

NOTE : It would be best to complete unit standard 20645 first before conducting unit 21467.
