Why choose FETS?

We’re not the biggest training provider in the country – and we don’t want to be.

Our smaller size means we can respond quickly to client requests and be flexible with last minute changes.

And that’s why many of our clients come back to us again and again; because of our commitment to them.

Organisations such as Fonterra, Strait Shipping, NIWA, Taylor Preston, Interislander, Transfield, Eddie Carson & Sons, Ministry of Primary Industries (formerly NCDI) and Weltec, some of whom have been with us from the start, trust FETS to deliver quality training programmes, by expert trainers with operational backgrounds, that will keep their employees safe and their businesses working.

Entrust FETS with your emergency preparedness, emergency response, compliance and safety management training and you can be assured of quality course content delivered by experts in their field, backed by superb service from an administration team which will go the extra mile for you.

From a one-off refresher course to an annual programme for your nationwide team, we’ll work with you to identify your training needs and develop cost-effective, flexible, practical “hands-on” training for your organisation.

FETS goes beyond the minimum requirements; tailoring our courses to your staff, your workplace and your emergency procedures.

It’s not enough to just “do” our courses.

We make sure that attendees have a complete understanding of what is being taught, so they are able to respond effectively and with confidence to any emergency situation.  What’s more, the new skills and knowledge they develop will give them a different perspective of their workplace (and themselves). They will have greater safety awareness, understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment, decision making, team work and problem solving.

And that’s got to be good for your business!

FETS in the Community – Training for the future

FETS also works in partnership with the UFBA (United Fire Brigades Association) and Ministry of Youth Development to deliver safety awareness, risk management and emergency response training to teenagers. This school holiday programme (with a difference!) aims to contribute towards injury prevention and reduction in preventable accidents involving young people by providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to make safe decisions – and be better equipped to respond if accidents do happen.

Ask us about a Compliance Audit

If you’re not sure exactly what the training requirements are for your organisation, contact us today to arrange a free compliance consultation.  We can review the current levels of ability within your workforce, identify knowledge and skills gaps and provide you with a training plan. In most cases we’ll be able to provide the training courses and even develop custom programmes for you, but if we do identify an area outside of our expertise, we’ll find a trusted expert for you!  We’ll even remind you when Refreshers are due to make sure you don’t suffer unnecessary costly downtime due to uncompliant employees.

You can always rely on us as your first point of contact… whatever your safety management and emergency response training needs.

NZQA Accreditation

FETS is registered with NZQA as a Private Training Establishment (PTE) and are currently on a four year audit cycle, the longest cycle NZQA have.

Any course that we run that has units standards attached goes through a rigorous moderation process with the Standard Setting Body ensuring the quality of the course is to a very high level.  This level of training then flows on to our refresher courses and our tailor made packages.
